1.  The Association of Independent Inventory Clerks (AIIC)

 

The AIIC was established in 1994 and inaugurated in 1996 to aid the rental market.  The AIIC ensures Landlords, Tenants and Agents in the UK understand how Inventory Clerks can help provide a wide range of services to protect themselves or their clients. 

 

The AIIC offers help to Inventory Clerks and provides a service to them, as it was established there was no organisation for anybody to turn to for advice previously.

2.  ARLA Propertymark Inventories (ARLAINV)

  

ARLA Propertymark Inventories aims to provide a service for either in-house or independent inventory providers - by offering a recognised standard of inventory provision, advice and guidance and opportunities for professional development.  They currently have over 580 inventory providers in membership, who can demonstrate their professionalism to clients using post-nominals (e.g. MARLAINV) and the ARLA Propertymark logo. They can also promote their service via the ARLA Propertymark Inventories website.

 

ARLA Property Inventories also provides Landlords, Property Management Agents and Tenants with the names of and access to accredited inventory providers, with the reassurance that an members meet professional standards, are fully insured and follow the ARLA Propertymark Inventories Code of Practice.

3.  The Property Redress Scheme

​

The Property Redress Scheme (PRS) is authorised by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute under the ADR Regulations 2015 and is one of the three government authorised schemes which all sales and letting agents must be a member of.  The scheme is also open to all property professionals; such as Inventory Clerks.

​

Membership of the scheme is mandatory for agents but voluntary for other property professionals at the moment.
